Ammonite Fossil Brass Ring

$ 35.00
This ring features an ammonite fossil from Madagascar. The ammonite measures 15mm x 19mm and sits in a prong setting. The band is made out of brass and has a hammered texture. This ring is a size 7.

Ammonites were a shelled cephalopod. The extinction of ammonites coincided with the extinction of the dinosaurs. Egyptians named this fossil after their God, Ammon, because of its similar shape to a ram's horns. It was prized by Egyptian and Roman societies because it was seen as a deity symbol. Fossils represent time, eternity and evolution. In general they are used as amulets to increase one's life span, due to lineage.
