Celesite's name means “celestial” or “heavenly” in Latin. It was discovered in 1791 near Frankstown, Pennsylvania and has been named the official mineral of Pennsylvania. The hue of blue Celestite is attributed to the presence of small traces of gold. It’s the most common natural sulfate of Strontium and its compounds, such as Strontium Nitrate used in red signal flares or fireworks. Celestite relieves stress, anxiety and obsessive behaviors.
