Labradorite Amethyst Silver Necklace

This necklace displays a labradorite stone in a teardrop cut, revealing intense flashes of blue. It hangs from an exquisite, aquamarine gem of amethyst. The labradorite stone measures 11mm x 26mm and the amethyst jewel measures 6mm. The pendant measures 11mm in width, 46mm in length and slides around a sterling silver, diamond cut, satellite chain with a length of 18".

This form of feldspar was first discovered in Labrador, Canada, by Moravian missionaries in 1770. Today most labradorite is mined in Madagascar but a lower quality can also be found in the high peaks of the Adirondacks of New York.
