Honey Iceland Spar

$ 40.00
This specimen of Iceland Spar, also known as optical calcite was not cut or polished by human hands. Although, it's found in various areas of the world, it originally was discovered in Iceland, hence its name. This particular piece came from Brazil. This variety of calcite displays an optical illusion called double refraction. When looking through the crystal, it splits the light rays in two, producing a double image. Therefore, in 1669 Iceland Spar was involved in the official discovery of polarization. This characteristic serves its purpose for crystal healers as well. It is often used in magic rituals to double the power of a magic spell or to amplify images to see a double meaning in hidden communications. Calcite serves as a powerful amplifier and cleanser of various types of energies. For healing purposes, it has been used to reduce tension, heal the eyes and relieve migraine headaches.

Dimensions: 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" x 33mm.
