Peruvian Opal Gold Drop Necklace
This necklace features a Peruvian opal accented with a charm of cubic zirconia to add a touch of sparkle. The pendant measures 15mm in width and 30mm in length. It slides around a gold filled, satellite chain with a length of 18". Chrysoprase beads accent the ends of the chain near its clasp.
Peruvian opal is relatively rare and is only found in the Andes mountains near San Patricio, Peru. Its high-water content makes it delicate and sensitive to heat. I find that these stones will sweat with high humidity, which means they can dry out easily in a dry climate. This makes them susceptible to cracking or breaking if they dry out too much. Like most opals, a little extra care is required to maintain their beauty.
Metaphysically, it takes the tension out of communication and helps ideas flow freely. It softens the impact of stress from the outside world and can help one to release the trauma of old wounds. It facilitates facing the future with a tranquil healing nature, helps quiet the mind and can aid sleep. Sleeping with a Peruvian opal is believed to cure subconscious pain from your past.
