Vesuvianite Crystal Druzy Gold Wrap Pendant

$ 75.00
This piece features an extraordinary specimen of vesuvianite. Also known as Idocrase, this fascinating mineral was originally found on the volcano, Mt Vesuvius in Italy, hence one of the names. The other name, idocrase, is from the greek and means mixed form, an allusion to its crystals showing a mixture of other mineral forms. Vesuvianite's tetragonal crystal formation is uncommon and quite beautiful. This particular cluster of vesuvianite crystals came from Quebec. Vesuvianite has gone up a lot in price lately. It's becoming scarce now, but thankfully I have a lot of it that I've hoarded over the years. It's one of my favorite minerals, so I find it hard to part with sometimes. This rare mineral is decoratively wrapped with 14 kt. gold filled wire with diamond cut, faceting to create a touch of sparkle. This particular piece has a variation of color of green and a little bit of purple, a color more rare. This vesuvianite pendant has a width of 20mm and a length of 40mm, which includes the gold bail. In this listing you may choose to purchase the pendant only or add the chain shown in the pictures. This is a gold filled, rope chain with a length is 17 1/2" adjustable up to 20". A peridot bead accents the end of the extension chain.

Metaphysical Properties:
Vesuvianite encourages enthusiasm for life and imparts the courage to change. It's also said to release negative attachments and hidden fears. Crystal healers use vesuvianite to strengthen tooth enamel and to restore the sense of smell. It also assists in assimilating nutrients from food.
