Vesuvianite Druzy Pendant - with Kyanite, Peridot and Lemon Quartz
This necklace features a druzy of vesuvianite, which I cut and shaped from a larger stone. Also known as Idocrase, this fascinating mineral was originally found on the volcano, Mt Vesuvius in Italy, hence one of the names. The other name, idocrase, is from the greek and means mixed form, an allusion to its crystals showing a mixture of other mineral forms. Vesuvianite's tetragonal crystal formation is uncommon and quite beautiful. Wrapped in sterling silver, twisted wire, this particular cluster of vesuvianite crystals came from Quebec.
Clustered at the top of the stone are faceted gems of kyanite, peridot and lemon quartz, with silver chains that cascade down. The pendant measures 1" in width and has a length of 1 1/2", which includes the silver bail. In this listing you may choose to buy just the pendant or add the chain shown in the pictures. This chain is a sterling silver, double curb chain that comes with a 2" extender with a kyanite bead accent. Choose between a 16"-18" or an 18"-20".
Vesuvianite encourages enthusiasm for life and imparts the courage to change. It's also said to release negative attachments and hidden fears. Crystal healers use vesuvianite to strengthen tooth enamel and to restore the sense of smell. It also assists in assimilating nutrients from food.
