This necklace displays the cutest pendant featuring an ammonite fossil from Madagascar. It's accented with a princess cut gem of citrine. Bezeled set in sterling silver, this pendant slides around a beaded necklace of mother of pearl. A sterling silver chain accents the beads for a multi strand design. The necklace length is 16" adjustable up to 18".

Ammonite Fossil:
The ammonite mollusk was a shelled cephalopod. The extinction of ammonites coincided with the extinction of dinosaurs. Egyptians named this fossil after their God, Ammon. Named after its similar shape to a ram’s horns, it was prized by Egyptian and Roman societies because it was seen as a deity symbol. Fossils represent time, eternity and evolution. The color of citrine comes from the presence of iron impurities within the crystal. Most natural occurrences of citrine are when amethyst formations are near the earth’s crust.
