Apophyllite Crystal Gold Paper Clip Chain Necklace

This necklace features a cluster of apophyllite crystals. Mined in India, this crystal measures 25mm x 35mm and sits in a prong setting of raw brass. The pendant is suspended between two paper clip chains with diamond cut faceting, which creates a lot of sparkle and shine.It's a gold vermeil chain (gold plating over sterling silver) with a length of 18 1/2" adjustable up to 20 1/2". The chain is finished with a gold filled extension chain and spring ring clasp and a bead of white moonstone. 

Apophyllite: The name apophyllite refers to a specific group of phyllosilicates, a class of minerals that also includes the micas. These minerals are typically found as secondary minerals in holes in basalt or other igneous rocks. Apophyllites are popular as collector's minerals due to a combination of factors, including their abundance, color variety, and well-defined crystals. Naturally forming pyramidal structures, they refract light in obvious rainbows, and can form "natural pyramids" when subjected to rock tumbling.
