History and Metaphysical Properties:

Jade’s doppelganger, serpentine is often used as a substitute to jade as it is softer and easier to carve. For yogis, serpentine is included in their practice of tantric and shaktic yoga since it is a stone of kundalini awakening. Kundalini energy is known as the “serpent power” that is coiled up like a snake at the base of the spine, and serpentine assists in tapping into that power and energy.
